416Skin — Medical Aesthetics

A Toronto luxury skin studio, rebuilt so Google can finally find it.

416Skin — Medical Aesthetics

416Skin is a medical aesthetics studio in Toronto. I designed and built its website on my own, starting in 2025, with Astro: every page is prebuilt, so search engines read each treatment without running JavaScript.

A custom website for a Toronto medical aesthetics studio. The first version looked beautiful but was nearly invisible to Google. So it was rebuilt the right way: every treatment now has its own real page that search engines can read instantly — and the studio finally shows up where clients are searching.

The brief

A luxury studio that deserved to be found.

The setting.

416Skin is a Toronto medical aesthetics studio offering more than a hundred treatments across fifteen categories — facials, body contouring, laser, the full menu. The original website looked the part. It just had one problem.

The problem.

The old site was built in a way where the real content only appears after the page loads in a browser. People see it fine — but Google's reading software often doesn't wait. So every treatment, every category, every question a client might search for was effectively invisible. Beautiful site, empty search results.

The rebuild

Rebuilt page by page — keeping only the moving parts that earn their place.

Real pages, ready before you arrive.

The site was rebuilt with Astro, a tool that produces finished, complete pages ahead of time. Every page now exists as a real document that loads instantly and that Google can read on the first visit — no waiting, no tricks.

Interactive only where it matters.

Most of the site is now plain, fast content. The interactive pieces that survived are the ones people actually use: the contact form, the client reviews carousel, the photo gallery, and the cookie banner. Everything else needs no code running at all.

Each interactive piece loads at the right moment.

  • Right away — The contact form is ready immediately — it's the one thing a visitor might use before scrolling.
  • When it comes into view — The reviews and galleries load only when you scroll to them — no wasted loading up front.
  • When the browser is free — The cookie banner waits its turn, so it never slows the first view of the page.
  • Or not at all — The menu and footer are plain content with a ten-line script — nothing heavy anywhere near them.

The page map

Twenty pages, built in one go.

One command, the whole site.

One build produces everything — the four main pages (Home, About, Services, Contact), a questions-and-answers page, and fifteen treatment-category pages generated automatically from one template and a list. Every page gets its own web address, its own title, and its own description for search engines.

What every page carries.

  • Its own search listing — Each page has its own title, description, and preview card for when it's shared — plus location details for Toronto searches.
  • A machine-readable summary — Each page includes a structured summary in the exact format Google prefers — the business, its services, its prices, its reviews.
  • The full treatment list, readable by Google — The Services page includes every category, every treatment, and every description as plain text for search engines.
  • Fifteen pages from one template — One template plus a list of fifteen categories becomes fifteen real pages at build time.

Speaking Google's language

Structured summaries on every page.

Written once, used everywhere.

Search engines love pages that describe themselves in a structured format — this is a beauty business, these are its services, this is its rating. On this site, those summaries are produced by a small set of shared helpers instead of being copy-pasted onto each page. Update the helper once, and every page stays correct.

The star rating is real.

The rating Google sees comes from the same list of client reviews that visitors see on screen. No hand-typed numbers, no gap between what users read and what Google reads.

Craft

The details that don't show up in a speed test.

Small decisions with long lives.

  • Fonts served from our own site — The two typefaces ship with the site itself — no calls to outside font services, one less thing slowing the first view.
  • One palette, one file — All the brand colors — cream, rose, brown, sage, gold — live in one file. Change it once, the whole site follows.
  • Scroll animations without the heavy machinery — The gentle fade-in as you scroll runs on twenty lines of plain code — no animation library needed.
  • Nothing tracks you without asking — All three analytics tools sit behind one gate. Nothing loads until the visitor accepts the cookie banner.

Publishing

Every update ships itself.

One pipeline, no manual steps.

When a change is saved, an automatic pipeline builds the site and publishes it to Cloudflare's worldwide network. Work-in-progress changes get their own private preview link, so the studio can approve a change before it goes live.
